KREATiS, qui sont-ils ?

KREATiS est une société dont l’activité principale est la recherche et le développement de méthodes in silico pour prédire les dangers pour la santé humaine et l’environnement des substances chimiques.

L’étude des mécanismes d’actions toxiques de ces substances est à l’origine de la création de KREATiS avec l’objectif de quantifier l’impact des substances sur les organismes (mammifères, poissons, daphnies, etc).

Les prédictions générées par KREATiS sont destinées à remplacer ou à appuyer les études expérimentales requises dans les dossiers réglementaires (REACH, cosmétiques, phyto/pharmaceutiques, etc) selon le Principe des 3R qui limite (ou remplace) l’usage des vertébrés et ceci à moindre coût.

Pour offrir cette alternative à l’expérimentation, l’équipe de KREATiS utilise sa boîte à outils développée en interne et nommée iSafeRat®. Cette plateforme regroupe de nombreux modèles basés sur les relations quantitatives structures-activités donnant lieu à des prédictions de haute-précision (HA-QSAR). L’équipe travaille sans relâche à l’amélioration des performances d’iSafeRat® et à la reconnaissance croissante de cette plateforme par les autorités réglementaires telles que l’ECHA.

D’ailleurs, leur modèle sur les mécanismes d’action toxique nommé iSafeRat® MechoA est désormais intégré dans l’outil développé conjointement par l’OCDE et l’ECHA (OECD QSAR Toolbox) et dont l’usage est croissant au niveau international.

En parallèle, la recherche et le développement d’une batterie de tests incluant de la modélisation en 3D (ou docking) pour identifier les perturbateurs endocriniens (PE) permet à l’équipe de prioriser les substances d’un portefeuille en vue d’études plus approfondies. La participation de KREATiS à la plateforme française PEPPER comme représentant de l’AFSSI lui permet d’être au plus près des développements des études in vitro permettant l’identification des PE.

De plus, l’activité de consulting in silico menée par KREATiS lui permet de mettre en avant son expertise dans le domaine in silico en proposant d’autres modèles (modèles tiers) qui peuvent prédire des dangers qui ne sont pas couverts actuellement par iSafeRat®.

Enfin, KREATiS propose de la formation sur les méthodes in silico et en particulier sur l’outil OECD QSAR Toolbox dont l’usage et l’interprétation peuvent s’avérer compliqués.
